UK Petroleum Data CD - 2004

In previous years Data by Design has published an electronic version of the UK Department of Trade and Industry’s annual report on the Development of the Oil and Gas Resources of the United Kingdom (known affectionately throughout the oil and gas industry as ‘the Brown Book’).  In 2002, in keeping with current e-government policy, the Brown Book ceased publication in hard copy.  The data and information previously provided in the appendices and tables of the Brown Book are now available online at the DTI's website, www.og.dti.gov.uk.  However, none of these data are currently available as downloadable datasets and many customers have expressed difficulties in finding the information thy require.

In response to this demand Data by Design sought and was granted permission from the DTI to collect these data from their website and re-format the data into a more readily digestible and manageable format.

The UK Petroleum Data CD - 2004 therefore attempts to re-create the Digital Brown Book of previous years supplemented with additional information and material of relevance to the UK Petroleum Industry gathered from public sources.
